Family and youth ministry activities at St. Matthew Lutheran Church seek to provide fellowship and growth opportunities for our members and people in the community… always centered around the love and grace we have in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
“Mom’s Group” (which primarily ministers to women with Pre-school and younger children) meets on Fridays from 10:00-11:30a.m. Bible study and Christian fellowship time is offered for the moms while a Bible story time, crafts, snack and playtime is offered for the children.
Young Family Night is on the 3rd Sunday evening of the month. Children are cared for by other responsible individuals while adults have time for a devotion and Christian fellowship.
A "Young Adult Night" is held on the 3rd Tuesday of every month (see current calendar for and changes to this date). This is a new group and we meet at the Hickory Lodge at 7:00 p.m. for a devotion, food and fellowship.
Youth activities for youth in grades 9-12 are provided on a weekly basis. In addition, youth are given opportunities to attend summer mission trips, serve people who have needs within the church and the community, as well as attend national youth gatherings.
Confirmation class is held for 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades on Wednesday evenings from 5:30-7:00p.m. Also, food and fellowship opportunities are a part of Wednesday evening activities.
Sunday School classes are held for grades Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade on Sunday mornings from 9:15-10:15 a.m.
An after-school program is held on Tuesdays, during the school year, from 3:30-5:00 p.m. for grades 1-4.
