If you have been given a talent in music, drama, speaking, or technology and want to share it in the Lord's Church, St. Matthew has a place for you. Please contact the Colleen Braun for more information about any of the following ministries. Contact information is listed at the bottom of this page.
The Senior Choir, directed by Louise Clausen, is an SATB group for teens to adults. Meeting Wednesday nights during the school year from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m., this group sings at 8:00 worship and at holiday services. Membership is open without audition. Note-reading ability is helpful but not required.
The Bell Choir meets Thursday evenings, 7:00 - 8:00 p.m., during the school year and is directed by Louise Clausen. This choir performs monthly at the 8:00 a.m. service and at special services. Members must have rhythmic and note-reading ability.
Our two Praise Teams are singers, pianists, and guitarists who currently rehearse Tuesdays from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. These groups sing contemporary and gospel music once a month at the 8:00 service and at mid-week worship services. Membership is open without audition.
The Worship Band is a group of guitarists, drummers, and singers who lead our Contemporary Worship each Sunday under the direction of Colleen Braun. These musicians should have a Christian spirit, good platform presence, and dynamic musical ability. Because rehearsal is limited, players should have the ability to read charts and/or manuscript. This group rehearses Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. An audition and brief interview are required.
Vocal and instrumental musicians enhance the traditional and festival services at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. From solos to small ensembles, special music enables individuals to actively participate in and help facilitate congregational worship. Organists and pianists serve as accompanists and as the musical foundation for worship at St. Matthew.
The Tech Team consists of volunteers who run the Audio, Video, and Recording aspects for worship. The audio technician runs the sound board mix and monitor board at every service. Because the 8:00 service on Sunday morning is recorded for production on Cable TV, a camera-man is needed every week. The screen show presentation requires a computer operator at each worship service.
Readers of the weekly Scripture lessons are scheduled for the Saturday evening and Sunday morning worship services.
Dramas are occasionally used as part of our worship experience at St. Matthew. Actors must be able to schedule rehearsals as needed and perform for both Saturday evening and Sunday morning worship services. Interested individuals should contact Pastor Braun.
Children's song leaders and accompanists are needed during the Sunday School hour. Please contact Roxann Leckband, Director of Family and Youth Ministry.
